LZ Fat City. I don't know the names of either one of these men. The man on the left was at Professional with us and was in my gun section on LZ Ray and at Fat City. I feel really bad because I can't remember his name. He was and is a Good man and had a great since of humor. He had an all around good personality. The little man on the right better look out because my man is on his toes.

Gun fives hootch LZ Fat City when it rains it pours. Left to right Copus, Carlson, Barry, Earl and Taff.

Flooded hootch LZ Fat City. The man on the left has to be Dell Burns and the man on the right is Taff.

This is a supply truck that ran over a mine at LZ Fat City after I had gone home. Edward Cloutier told me about this. On the back of the picture Larry wrote that it was driven by a short timer with about two weeks left. As you can see he got to go home two weeks early because of the mine.

These pictures are of satchel charges made by the gooks. I have never seen one like this before. From what Larry told me, it was a two-stage explosive. The first would get it airborn and the second stage would set it off. The one on the bottom has two fireing pins attached to the cords that you can see. It looks like they pointed them at the perimeter and when the cord ran out, it set the thing off inside. If you look real close, you will see that they are in US sand bags. I remember that the gooks could make something out of nothing.

Photo furnished by John Duggan. Resupply chinook and I am going to guess it is at LZ Fat City. I don't know who is in the picture.

Picture furnished by Larry Bourbonnais. Left to right, my friend Edward Cloutier and the man on the right I don't remember his name. This is the best day that anyone could have in Vietnam. Going home we all looked for that day to come and it seemed at the time would never come.

On the left you have Larry Bourbonnais (Captain America). It looks like Larry was the first Rambo. The man on the right is the Command Sgt. Major from Battalion. He was or seemed to be a very nice man. On the evening of August 27, 1969 we had a few beers at the NCO club at Chu Lia. Does anyone remember why he was there and was he there before Dell Burns was killed?
